1+1=Love. Two kindergarten teachers promise forever.

What are the odds that two kindergarten teachers would meet and fall in love?

As I got to know Brandi better (during the wedding planning process), I realized that no detail would go unplanned for her wedding. She had thought of everything and even the littlest detail whispered information about their lives, interests, and personalities. Every photographer loves to meet a creative bride who is thinking the way you are thinking.¬† Some of my favorite wedding images are always detail photos. Brandi kept me busy with detail shots and I couldn’t get enough! Her dress (with pockets), Nick’s suspenders, tiny bird statues, a photo booth, candles, and vintage tablecloths kept me busy all night.

The ceremony took place at Belmont Mansion in Nashville, Tennessee followed by a reception at the Cannery Ballroom. Both locations provided the most beautiful setting for Brandi and Nick’s wedding. However, I’m skipping ahead just a bit!

Before the ceremony and reception, this creative couple planned a very entertaining rehearsal/rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner was at Art and Soul, a charming art studio off 12th Street. The dinner included  juggling, a scrapbook album of good luck notes from their kindergarten students (they both teach!), and down home Southern fare.

Brandi had thought ahead and summer heat + cicada invasion = all indoor venues. Nobody, I mean NOBODY…could escape the cicadas last summer. Enjoy Brandi and Nick’s tiny memento to remind them of their tiniest wedding guests:)

I had a wonderful time at the rehearsal dinner and was so impressed by how well the rehearsal dinner matched the couple. Then, it was the wedding day and Brandi & Nick continued to surprise me. I adore the tiny picture frames Brandi attached to her bouquet and Nick wore on his suit jacket. Encased inside gold and silver were pictures of the grandparents who would not be joining them on their wedding day. It’s special touches like this that pulled at my heart.

I loved Brandi’s silver glittery TOMS and the tiny message attached to the bottom.

Nick is one of the sweetest guys I have ever met. I guess you would have to practically be a saint to be a kindergarten teacher. I love kids…but kindergarten screams snot, possible potty accidents, and more snot. Bless. his. heart. I found him sitting alone taking in a few quiet moments before the ceremony.

Did I mention Brandi thought of everything?? She was so great about flexibility and building in time to the busy wedding day schedule for pictures. We both agreed that we had to take advantage of what Belmont Mansion had to offer. Here are some of the highlights of our pre-ceremony photo shoot.

It was finally time and we all prepped Brandi. “So, no pressure but don’t fall down the stairs!”

I loved every part of Brandi and Nick’s ceremony and then we were off to Cannery Ballroom for a non-stop entertaining evening. Nick’s brother serenaded the couple with a song that Nick wrote for Brandi. The guests danced, drank, and danced some more–some even break dancing. In between songs, the photo booth stayed busy and people lounged on the couches just off the dance floor.

Brandi & Nick–Thank you for inviting me to be a part of such a special day.
